Someone posted video of themselves playing Mario Kart 7 at EuroGamer Expo. I'm not sure how much there is to learn from this, especially since the guy fell a lot.

Gamespot put out a gameplay video of MK7 a couple weeks ago. Some thoughts on this ...

First-person. Wow. I won't be using this, but this is interesting. Perhaps it's only done while flying?

Again, heavy characters will probably dominate based on bumping.

In Double Dash and DS, you can dodge it manually, but in Wii, you're screwed there.

The Mindscarp channel on YouTube was the best. This person was recording all of the replays of world records (and posting them in HD, but I didn't care). I tried to get some strats while watching, but I mostly suck at time trials.

Intro to the blog

Many writers have told me never to start with "I" because I'm not a part of the story. This time I am. For a long time, I've wanted to have a blog about Mario Kart and everything about Mario Kart. The good and bad.

This isn't about Mario Kart 7 coming out, although it is nice timing (2 months away). I love the series. Even in its shitty times and shitty versions, the game has been great. I love it. It's my type of game. So this is why I'm doing this blog. I want to share my love of Mario Kart with all of you. Yeah I'll do the typical blog stuff, but I'll be fairly candid here, because much like any other place, I want what's best for the series. What exactly will I post here? Whatever I find related to Mario Kart. Two months to MK7, I'm excited.
